Decompression time.

Any activity from the Charlie Weis era came to a close today, Wednesday, February 3, 2010. Brian Kelly couldn’t be more pleased because now, all actions involving the football program will come from his desk. It will be worth the time to watch.

College football really ends on signing day, not in the bowl season. The immediate personnel...

That's the most important theme he expressed as far as I am concerned.

Notre Dame does not need to cut academic standards.

Notre Dame and its student athletes are different from other schools - they are expected to be gentlemen who are a credit to the School.

Notre Dame does not need to be in a Conference.

Notre Dame does not need Athletic Dorms and Athletic eating facilities.

Notre Dame does not need gimmicks.

Notre Dame Can't Afford Another Misstep

We all know Lou Holtz was the last homerun hire, but why? It's easy to understand why the choices were slim and none -- bad pun -- when Weis got the nod. After 2 coaches and 8 years of mediocrity, the ND job had lost a lot of its luster, but how did it get to be that way? It's a pattern of settling.

I saw this article on O'Leary from back in the day, and it still stings. How did we go from Lou Holtz and NC talk every year to an internal promotion of Bob Davie, hiring of a mediocre...
