Ten Reasons Why 09 Matters

Well, I've gone through a career change, and other various stressors....but my love for the Irish reamins. However, I am rusty when it comes to this bloggy forum stuff.....sooooo....heres 10 quick hits about why 2009 is the most important season for the Irish in a decade.....
10. I just don't like PAC 10 and SEC teams....I want them to be at our mercy. I am so sick of the cocky swagger. Its like the guy who swoops in to steal your girl while you're sick in the hospital. College football is our girl and I hope we leave the ICU to beat the snot out of the pencilneck geek who stole our lady.
9. My son is entering his formidible football watching years. He needs to understand Notre Dame football for what it is, save the last decade.
8. We have an AD who likes football. It would be nice to reward him with more than 8 wins.
7. Mark May sucks.
6. 2010 class is being heralded as the most talent rich in decades. I would think at some point these high schoolers would like to see some wins...don't you?
5. Te'o is here this year...who knows about next year.....
4. The staff is stronger than ever. Theres no scapegoating the assistants.
3. This schedule is a once in 25 years cupcake buffet. No better year to rally for a title.
2. This is the year of the "Weis Guys". Our talented underclassmen are becoming juniors and seniors. This year is a make or break for the likes of Neal, Parris, a slew of OL (including Romine), Nwankwo, Nuss, and others.
1. Charlie Weis is on thin Ice....and hes a big guy. He needs to win 10 to be comfortable, and if he wins any less than 7 its the end of the Weis Era. Coaching searches wreck a program and set things back by 3-4 years typically.
I'm baaaack.

Formative years for a formidable team, eh?
