Dear Notre Dame Football Team
Dear Notre Dame Football Team,
You are a talented team, but you do some things that drive the fanbase crazy.
Jimmy Clausen, you have the best ball placement and accuracy I have seen from a Notre Dame quarterback (I have only been following ND football since about 1993). I can't imagine how much better you would be if you didn't telegraph nearly every ball you throw. Can you please, occasionally pump fake, or look off a receiver?
Armando Allen you are fast, and you are able to cut. You can break a tackle from time to time. These are really great qualities. I don't know if you know this or not, but you are allowed to run the ball outside the hash marks. So, I mean, if you want to cut something to the outside, you're allowed. If you do this, I feel that you might get some touchdowns.
Robert Hughes, why does the offensive line block for you so well? Have you bribed them with ice creams after the game? If so, please tell James Aldridge and Armando Allen about whatever kind of deal you have cut.
Harrison Smith, do you remember this spring when you looked like an All American? What happened? You were unblockable and covered receivers. It was good. You are good. Be confident.
Kyle Ruldolph, I like you. I don't know if you know this, but you're still a freshman. You're playing like an upperclassman. You can’t go pro for a couple more years, but go ahead and keep playing like a draft prospect.
Brian Smith and Mo Crum. I like you guys too. Heck, all the linebackers are ok with me.
Golden Tate..... Golden Tate, I am sorry you're underutilized. I understand, that you were our leading rusher last week on one attempt. I further understand that you were our second leading receiver, on 5 receptions.
Pat Kuntz please give a symposium on work ethic and passion. Charlie Weis, please make it mandatory.
Kyle McCarthey, how's your brother doing? By the way, did you know that you have quietly remained in the top ten in tackles in the NCAA, You and Bruton are tied for 16 in solos too.
I know you lost to that horrible big headed foam browed cave-spartan. He's also the worst mascot, in the mascotting universe. Both of those points are equally true and sad. You only lost because, well you played bad. Turnovers aren't good. This team was harder to come back on in East Lansing, than San Diego at home I suppose.
Anyone who had predicted you going 9-3 or 10-2 had this slated as a loss, so don’t let them get you down. I wanted you to win the National Championship this year after the Michigan game too. But sometimes reality bites.
Now, you're going to play Purdue this coming weekend. They are a good team. They have this QB named Painter. He's tremendous(ly overrated). They don't have Dorian Bryant anymore. I know it seems like he played there for at least 8 seasons. He and Michigan's Braylon Edwards were able to utilize the Big Ten Big Ten Years of eligibility rule. But hes gone now.
Ryan Baker is still there. He went to Purdue over Notre Dame because they promised him he would play tight end there (versus defensive tackle at Notre Dame) I am sure that he's playing tight end..... Joe Tiller wouldn't lie on you.....or.....
Seriously, play confident. You could win out from here to the coliseum, and win big.
Love,
The Irish Faithful
